Winter in Kansas City can be a cold and difficult time for low-income individuals and families. With barely enough resources to keep their home or pay their bills, there is often little left over for these clients to afford "luxuries" like winter clothing and coats. That's where community partners like HNTB Corporation make a big difference.

Through the Annual HNTB Cares Coat Drive, employees collected over 100 coats for the Don Bosco Family Support Center. The Family Support Center is one of six centers operated by Don Bosco. At the Family Support Center, nearly 11,000 people a year receive assistance with food, clothing, rent, utilities, and job counseling. HNTB also collected other winter items to support Don Bosco's efforts, including hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, sweaters, sweatshirts, long johns, socks, blankets, and more.

"We wanted these clients to know that there are people in the community who care about them and their families," said HNTB employee Yolanda Branch. "It is a privilege to assist our neighbors in the community."
