Don Bosco Senior Center
The Don Bosco Senior Center serves adults age 60 and over, and people 18 and over with disabilities. The Center's primary services are to provide meals and transportation, as well as activities promoting health, education and recreation. Don Bosco is the largest, most comprehensive senior center in the Greater Kansas City area.

A variety of activities are available at the Senior Center that help improve the quality of life of Kansas City's seniors:

  • Lunch Program: Don Bosco's Senior Center provides lunches to over 900 people daily. Over 300 of these meals are served to people that are deemed homebound by a physician and social worker through Don Bosco's Meals on Wheels program.
  • Transportation: Transportation is an important Senior Center service. The Center transports people to and from the Center, as well as to shopping and recreational locations.

The Senior Center's goal is to help seniors maintain independent living for as long as possible, preserving the dignity and worth of each participant. The Center acts on this philosophy in two important ways:

1. By providing eductation about health care, benefits and other programs that improve the quality of life for seniors.

2. By organizing recreational and social activities including exercise and learning experiences to promote comraderie and moral support.

The Senior Center is committed to helping bring fulfillment to the seniors of Northeast Kansas City.
