Dress Code
At Don Bosco Charter High School, uniformed school and proper attire is required at all times. There are no exceptions to this dress code, and students should come properly dressed for each school day.

Male Students:
1. White or maroon shirt with long or short sleeves and a collar. Shirts can have the Don Bosco logo on them. No other written words or pictures are accepted as uniform.

2. Black or tan straight leg pants only. No "baggy" pants. Pants may not sag below the waist.

3. Shirt must be tucked in at the waist.

4. No other colors are to be showing underneath or on top of shirts except white or maroon.

Female Students:
1. White or maroon shirt with long or short sleeves and a collar. Shirts can have the Don Bosco logo on them. No other written words or pictures are accepted as uniform.

2. Black or tan straight leg pants or skirts are acceptable. Skirts may not be more than two inches above the knee.

3. Shirts must be tucked in at the waist.

4. No other colors are to be showing underneath or on top of shirts except white or maroon.

Non-conformity to the dress code is considered to be dress or appearance that is likely to cause disruption of the educational process or create a health or safety problem; or failure to compy with the policy governing attire set by the Board of Education. Failure to comply with this policy may include (but is not limited to) denial of participation in extracurricular activities, detention, and/or short-term suspensions.

School Supplies
Students are expected to bring the appropriate supplies with them to class each day. Families in need of assistance with school supplies may take advantage of Don Bosco's Project YES School Supply Drive each summer. Download the school supply list.

Student Expectations
Don Bosco Charter High School believes that student commitment is vital to successful learning. With this in mind, Don Bosco expects students to:

* Maintain 90% daily attendance rate per semester
* Refrain from alcohol, tobacco, other drug usage while on campus
* Not come to school under the influence of drugs or alcohol
* Resolve conflicts in a responsible and mature manner
* Be prepared
* Be polite
* Positively participate
* Be prompt
* Be productive
* Maintain a positive mental attitude
* Support the rules of Don Bosco Charter High School
* Interact with peers in a respectful and courteous manner
* Work toward personal, vocational, and academic success

Parent Expectations
Furthermore, Don Bosco believes in the importance of parental involvement in the learning process. With this in mind, Don Bosco expects parents to:

* See that their student attends school regularly and on time
* Encourage their student to complete his/her homework
* Provide a home environment that encourages their student to learn
* Support the school's discipline and attendance policies
* Encourage their student to engage in daily reading activities
* Participate in parent/teacher conferences as necessary

Staff Expectations
Finally, Don Bosco Charter High School the importance of its staff serving as role models. With this in mind, Don Bosco Charter High School staff will:

* Provide a safe, positive and healthy learning environment for each student
* Communicate with parents regarding their student's progress
* Communicate class work expectations to students
* Take into account the individual strengths of students

School Safety
Don Bosco strictly adheres to the Missouri School Safety and Security Act and the Weapon-Free Schools Act. Don Bosco has a zero-tolerance policy for weapons or violence on school grounds. View pages 36-39 of the school's Code of Conduct policy for the specifics of these acts.
