From the Desk of Ms. Barber
At Don Bosco Charter High School, we are committed to providing our students with new opportunities for success. Though many of our students have not thrived in traditional public school settings, their sense of determination coupled with the creativity and dedication of our faculty and staff is a formula for achievement.

During the 2007-2008 school year, Don Bosco will put a greater emphasis on equipping our students with an education suited to the 21st Century. On deck are efforts to renovate the school's resource center, including a new computer lab and an improved collection of library resources. Our students need the skills and education necessary to compete in today's job market, and we are actively seeking ways to provide them those skills.

Furthermore, a strong character education program is incorporated into the Don Bosco education and environment. This includes instilling in our students seven key attributes for success:

1. Honesty
2. Respectful Behavior
3. Responsibility
4. Compassion
5. Self-Discipline
6. Perseverance
7. Giving

Our vision is to, " create a safe and supportive environment wherein the faculty and staff will strive to instill the knowledge, skills and habits necessary for students to achieve their full potential." As we keep our eyes focused on that vision, we are developing a school that allows our students to be in charge of their own goals and objectives, and encouraging them to become life-long learners.

We thank those community partners and individual donors who support our work in Kansas City's urban core and look forward to a wonderful school year.
