Don Bosco currently has six community centers that offer a variety of programs and services for the residents of Northeast Kansas City:
Charter High School
The Don Bosco Charter High School is an accredited alternative school that graduates over 80 students each year. The school offers smaller classroom sizes that allow a more personal learning experience. Open enrollment is April-August, with occasional enrollment opportunities throughout the year as space becomes available. <learn more>
Counseling Center
Staffed by Truman Medical Center Behavioral Health Network, the Don Bosco Counseling Center offers individual, group and family counseling for people suffering from abusive situations, substance abuse, trauma and other emotional hardships. The Counseling Center's services are provided regardless of an individual's ability to pay. <learn more>
English as a Second Language Center
Offered in partnership with the Metropolitan Community Colleges - Penn Valley, the English as a Second Language Center helps new Americans overcome language barriers while preserving the community's ethnic diversity. Morning and evening classes are held Monday-Friday and provided free of charge. <learn more>
Family Support Center
The Family Support Center offers emergency food, clothing, rent and utility assistance to individuals and families in need. Assistance is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and by appointment. <learn more>
Senior Center
The Senior Center offers recreational activities, meals and programs for adults age 60 and over, and people age 18 and over with disabilities. The goal of the Senior Center is to help individuals maintain independence for as long as possible, while preserving their dignity and promoting self-worth. <learn more>
Youth Development Center
The Youth Development Center provides a safe and supportive environment for youth to participate in a variety of activities and programs that support education, encourage growth and increase community involvement. The Youth Development Center offers tutoring, summer camps, intramural sports, afterschool programs, and much more. <learn more>
